It’s being introduced in phases based on <strong>gross annual income from property and/or self-employment:</strong></p><p>●&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>From April 2026:</strong> Landlords earning <strong>over £50,000</strong><br>●&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>From April 2027:</strong> Landlords earning <strong>over £30,000</strong><br>●&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>From April 2028: </strong>Landlords earning<strong> over £20,000</strong></p><p><strong>What are the requirements?</strong></p><p>Under MTD, landlords will need to submit <strong>quarterly updates</strong>, followed by a <strong>final declaration:</strong></p><p>●&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;Quarter 1 (6 April – 5 July) </strong>→ deadline: <strong>7 August</strong><br>●&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Quarter 2 (6 July – 5 October)</strong> → deadline:<strong> 7 November</strong><br>●&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Quarter 3 (6 October – 5 January)</strong> → deadline: <strong>7 February</strong><br>●&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Quarter 4 (6 January – 5 April)</strong> → deadline: <strong>7 May</strong></p><p>After the fourth quarterly submission, the final step is the <strong>Final Declaration</strong>, confirming total income, expenses, and tax position for the year (replaces the previous Self Assessment return). The deadline for the Final Declaration is <strong>31st January</strong>.</p><p>Landlords have to use compatible software to submit their filings. We chose Hammock to support you.
