The Hale branch of Thornley Groves Estate Agents recently listed an end terrace house with an asking price of a quarter of a million pounds and exactly 40 days later the buyer that was found after just 2 weeks of marketing had exchanged contracts to purchase the house.
This quick sale at a premium price demonstrates that quality properties in the right locations will sell. More over the sale illustrates the ability of Thornley Groves to use its extensive database of ready willing and able buyers and match their specific criteria to properties that come on its books so that sales can be agreed with the most suitable buyers in very short time frames.
Continued reports that the housing market, although recovering remains sluggish seems to be deterring potential sellers from bringing their homes to the market, buyers are definitely on the hunt again, the very low level of fresh stock in the local market has created an unexpected opportunity for certain home sellers to find buyers at prices they only thought they could hope for and in time frames that surprise them!

The affluent south Manchester suburbs of Hale Bowdon and Hale Barns nestle adjacent one another bounded by the River Bollin to the south the A556 to the west and the M56 to the east. They are three of the most sought after areas in which to live in the whole of the UK, the equally affluent areas of Wilmslow Prestbury and Alderley Edge are often quoted as the North West’s most prosperous however Hale Bowdon and Hale Barns are often preferred by discerning home buyers because of the combination of shopping, Schooling and recreational facilities as well as for their convenience for Manchester Airport and their shorter commuting distance to Manchester City Centre. Many of the countries most successful legal and medical professionals, business leaders, entrepreneurs and sportsmen choose the leafy roads of Hale Bowdon and Hale Barns the diversity and quality of the residential housing stock is hard to beat and behind the neatly manicured hedge rows and gated entrances lie some of the most valuable and sought after private homes in the region.

Altrincham is a well known and popular town lying just 8 miles south of Manchester city centre, the towns charter status dates back to 1290. The oldest surviving part of the town is that around the Old Market Place and Church Street (on the A56). It was here that Bonnie Prince Charlie’s troops were allegedly billeted in 1745. The town became part of Trafford Metropolitan Borough council in 1974 although the postal address is still Altrincham Cheshire. Altrincham today is a residential, retail and office town offering supplies and services for the surrounding townships of Hale, Hale Barns, Bowdon, Oldfield Brow, Broadheath and Timperley, and is a commuter town of some character connected by Metrolink fast tram service to Manchester. The two modern Altrincham Grammar Schools also have an excellent academic record, the Girls opening in 1910 and the Boys in 1912.
The area has become popular because of its diverse mix of state and private schooling of excellent repute. Extensive leisure and recreational facilities and a superb range of shopping. Commuters can gain easy access to the regions extensive motorway network and for the international traveller Manchester airport is just 10 minutes from the town centre however its geographical orientation means that the town does not lie on the flight path.
